There’s a void in mental health care for homebound Americans

I am visually impaired and in a wheelchair. I’m not able to get out anymore. The only free counseling is in person at the women’s crisis center and I can’t get there. They don’t offer phone counseling. They referred me back to RAINN (they referred me to the women’s crisis center to begin with). I called two disability advocacy groups and there are no free support services for someone in my situation.

I know I’m never going to get better without therapy. I have no money and my health insurance doesn’t cover therapy. There is no hope for me and probably other people with disabilities. I’m a burden on society so I understand why there isn’t much of an investment in this.

Please.. Universe.. Release me from this hell.

Update: how many disabled people committed #suicide because there was no support available for people with #disabilities to seek #mental health #treatment

I’m just another statistic…
